Chicago, Illinois, Quad Cities and Champaign County Illinois Agriculture Tours

Agri Tours Illinois includes the cities of Chicago, Quad Cities and Champaign County in the state of Illinois.  The Quad Cities is just a 3-hour drive West of Chicago and is accessible via I-88 and I-80. Champaign County is located South East of the Quad Cities and is approximately a 3-hour drive via I-74.

This region has some of the richest soil in the world and Illinois is a leading farm income state with corn as its most important crop. Most of the crop is sold as grain and livestock feed but corn is also processed to produce corn syrup, starch and fuel alcohol. Soybeans are the second most farm product, followed by hay, wheat, rye, oats and grain sorghum.

Illinois is also leading producer of swine. The state's climate and varied soil types enable farmers to grow and raise many other agricultural commodities, including cattle, sheep, and poultry.
